We Believe
Our church community is made up of all sorts of people from many different backgrounds, ages and walks of life.

What brings us together is our faith in God, our desire to follow and serve Jesus together as one faith community, and share with our wider community the love, compassion and grace of God in Jesus, through the way we live our lives.

We are a contemporary church, and we believe the good news of Jesus Christ is relevant, and we seek to bear witness to Jesus in all of our gatherings and in our lives Sunday to Sunday.

We believe Jesus cares for the poor and the broken, and so we are active in meeting the needs of those in our local and global community through our service, prayer and giving.

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives and that Jesus Christ is the only One who can reconcile us to God.

We believe that Jesus lived a perfect life of love, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to give us freedom and new life.

We believe in Believer's Baptism, an act of immersion in water that represents Christ's death and resurrection and the death of our old life and our personal commitment to follow Jesus.

We celebrate Communion (the Lord's Supper) every Sunday, a time when we remember and give thanks for Jesus' death on the cross for us, and celebrate Jesus' victory over death in His resurrection, and the new life we experience through Christ.

We believe that we are called to work for the flourishing of our neighbourhood, and of the world. We gather on Sundays to celebrate who Jesus is, grow in our discipleship to Jesus and be equipped to follow Jesus day to day as we meet together on a Sunday. We then are sent out to live like Jesus in our homes, workplaces, neighbourhoods and communities Sunday to Sunday.

We believe that God keeps changing us, that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live lives of wholeness, grace and generosity towards others.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again to renew creation and all things.

A Safe Church 

The Bridge Church is committed to being a safe church. All of our ministry leaders have covenanted to uphold and live out our Community Covenant (available to download below), in their ministry roles. Our church has a zero-tolerance policy in relation to abuse of vulnerable people including children and is currently working towards the full implementation of the Churches of Christ Vic-Tas Safe Places Policy.
